York Archaeology (YA) is a self-funded educational Charity and a leading professional archaeological organisation operating throughout the UK. Founded in 1972, we have a reputation for delivering high quality investigation and research for a broad range of clients and partners. Through public, community and educational projects events, along with our world-class visitor attractions, we engage with over 1.2 million people each year from our offices in York, Glasgow, Sheffield and Nottingham.

Our People

Over 200 people work across our four UK offices and five visitor attractions. We are also grateful to have over 100 volunteers providing essential support and knowledge to our cause.
